Stroke it

Anyone ever owned strokers, if they sounded like they looked vega would be broke. My friends senior project was building a system with an 18" stroker. Unfortunately he ran out of money like the deadbeat he is and got a cheap amp. 500 watts still pounded, incredible vacuum spl from it.

The new line has dual spiders, so there are a set to fix when it blows I guess I dunno.
The sensitivity rating sunk like a brick though.
Anyone have experience with the new stroker/pro line?

sensitivity is pointless for a high power, high output sub.
the strokers need plenty of clean power and exactly the right box to work right.. but when you do it right, they can put out like mad.

i believe it was Doug Newcomb who gave that sub great reviews (the new one). said it actually sounded very musical AND loud. i don't trust mag sub reviews anymore though. the only sub that got a bad review that i can recall was the alphasonic, either the 612 or the 812. they trashed it.
but i think both Cv had dual spiders. the second one on this one i believe is just covered by a dome.

I dont think strokers would be a very good idea. Much better subs out there for the money.
