I just picked one up, running it with the JL 500/1, and I love it. When I first got into my car after getting it installed, I was pretty unhappy with how the sub sounded. My previous setup in my old car was a 10w6v2 run on a 500/1, so I got used to a little bit more of a boomy, overpowering bass. But, after tinkering with the settings on my HU, and gains on the amp, I am amazed at the SQ of the 8w7. There is never any rumbling or rattling in my trunk, and the bass is super tight. You can distinctly hear each note played on a bass guitar, and this sub will still hit hard when it needs to. It's not overpowering, and the bass blends with the music wonderfully. You're not going to turn any heads rolling down the street, but if you're not into that deep boomy bass (I don't listen to much rap), I would highly recommend this sub. It's a little on the pricy side, but I think well worth it.
