Hello, i posted a few days ago wondering witch components to go with and i was going for the Alpine SPR-57LS but now i wonder if im better off with 5 1/4 or 6.5 speakers. My stock set up is 6x8 but is there a big difference in sound for a 5x7 compared to the others. i know that an adapter is needed but is it a difficult install?
please give me some advice for i want to try to pick up a set soon.
Also what should i go for, id like to stay under the $300 Range for the pair, and am i better off with components in the rear or coaxials, Its a supercab.
Well to install 6.5" speakers, you'll have to cut into your doors a bit. Yes, that would be a fairly difficult install. Using the mounting plates for the 5.25" speakers shouldn't be bad at all and will give you pretty good imaging. 6.5s do offer greater bass extention in general, however. Getting great components for $300 shouldn't be a problem. Also for the back, its a personal decision. If you put speakers back there at all, maybe just 6.5 mids, but definately not components.
