hi all,just had a concept 650 installed but having problems connecting my laptop to the alarm...I dont have a serial port on the laptop as its fairly new,but i have got a usb to serial lead.When i try to connect to the alarm,it says port availible on com1 but system not found!! Is there something i have to enable first?
Forget it, I have the same alarm and the same problem.
At the moment most if not all of the RS232 (serial) to USB adapters are not able to communicate with this system.
Going one further, the software clifford released wrecks the brains in the alarms. (v2.2 and below)
My dealer is using a 5 year old laptop with old, old, outdated cliffnet software. I have been waiting for nearly 12 months for a resolution to this.
Clifford will tell you that there is no problem, but when you do fry your alarm the dealer will charge you heavily to replace the unit as it is not covered by your warranty as it was deemed "User Error" HA!
Any doubts about this then speak to your UK dealer and he will confirm this to you if he is honest and reliable.
