I'm replacing my Trailblazer's (w/o bose) speakers while retaining the factory unit/amplifier. The front speakers are 4 ohms, which is just fine, as all aftermarket car speakers are. Trouble comes when you get to the rear speakers - they are 8 ohms. Would it hurt the amplifier by switching to 4 ohms? Or could it make it get too hot? Please help me.

I know it doesn't have a seperate amp. I meant the built in amp in the HU.

Just curious, how many (or how few) watts do GM/Delco factory radios put out? Is it too little to power 4 sets of components plus a feed for a sub in the back?

I don't know the exact wattage, but it is way to little power to power a set of components and a sub. Look for an external amp.

I would ask Glasswolf or Isaac to be sure though.
