I have a 98 HOnda Civic DX and my car stalls when I stop at a stop light or stop sign when the car goes idle. I just bought a brand new 135 amp alternator and a optima yellow top battery. My amplifier is only 400 watts RMS and its STILL doing it. What else do i need to look at???

Did you upgrade alternator to battery, battery to ground and engine to chassis?
Does the car stall with the amp off too?

What really happens when it stalls? Does the rmp drop instantly or in spurts?
If it happens with the amp off, then the problem could be with your idler. Check the idle cable. See if it's loose. Also, is your air filter clean? If something blocks off the air flow, then it could stall.

It just automatically turns off. The idle cable was tight and the air filter was clean. It hardly ever turns off during the day after the car has been driven for a while. It does it the most in the morning while Im on my way to work.

I'd get the idler checked out. I had similar problem with my Mustang.
