Sony head unit code problem

hi all,
i was told this board is good for audio knowledge so here goes,

i have a sony xr-m510 head unit, i recently replaced the old car battery for a nice new one, but to my horror the head unit wanted a code due to it being reset. The unit is over 2 yrs old, but is quite a good unit. I think i had the code when i bought it, it was on a yellow slip, but all documentation for the unit has been lost in the house somewhere.
I have seen from previous posts on this board that ppl in similar situations have shared codes to try.
I have the remote for it so i can enter it no problem, i just need the code. I have emailed sony, but it might just be quicker to go to their head office and ask them for the code, as customer support is poor.

If anyone has any codes for me to try i will be a very happy man.

regards

tom

Kind of an esoteric question, Tom.

well yes it is, but someone must have this kind of knowledge even if it is only a few people. I am a member of other bbs and posted the same topic, so im playing the field.

This may sound stupid, but have you tried to call SONY? I'm sure that they have a record of it. They'll probably just need the Serial Number of the head unit.
