Replacing HeadUnit in 91 Accord

Somehow managed to remove factory unit.
Then the new unit (Sanyo) would not fit as Honda uses special extended base so that it can be secured.
Decided to use the sleeve that came with new unit as support. Screwed it in the wood trim inside the dash.

Before cutting the existing harness, decided to check wires. The new unit will not draw power no matter at what position is the key. Tried almost everything.

Don't want to give up this late.

What's wrong here ?

have you checked that you have a constant hot, and a switched power?

could you have mixed up the two?

So i'm assuming you're using an aftermarket wiring harness to go between the factory harness and the stereo harness, correct?

Forgot to mention probably the most important fact.
I decided to buy new HeadUnit since original died completely. Now I'm wondering if the power wire has gone bad.

I don't think the original harness had constant hot power. The only connections are/were:

4 speakers (8 wires)
Ground
Battery(Backup)
ACC(+)
Power Ant (my car does not have one)
Light(+)

I broke the old unit and took out the connector.
Tried connecting new wires to the pins.

Right now I'm trying to remove wires from Factory harness. Not cutting them. Just cutting the harness with a utility knife and removing wires with the pins.

I'm not using any aftermarket harness (Now in hindsight may be I should have). I was planning to connect stereo's wires to car's wires with by crimping.
