I have been thinking about adding a an amp and subwoofer to my factory stereo in my car. I have been told that a line out converter could be used so that RCA cables can be used. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the LOC would take away power from the head-unit to the original speakers if I spliced the speaker wires to the LOC.

I don't think it will but lots of people say it's not as good as RCA'S plugs from the head unit. I use the loc and my system sound find to me.

Thanks for your input. I was wondering if you could tell me the exact prcedures you went through in hooking up your LOC. I was thinking I could just splice the two rear speakers' wires into the LOC and RCAs to the amp.
