Any complications with 2-channel amp to 4 speakers?

I am wondering if there is any problems with wiring 2 speakers in parallel to each channel in a 2-channel amp. Now these would be 4-ohm speakers wired so I would have 2-ohm per channel and the amp would be stable at 2-ohms. The issue as I understand it is that there would be twice the current flow compared to having one speaker on its own channel. Can most amps handle this? Would I need to look at any other specs to make sure of this? Thanks for the help.

As long as the amp is 2-ohm stable, sure. But the current is divided by the 2 drivers, so it isn't a free lunch.
Can most amps handle this at constant high levels? no.

They should be able to handle that configuration unless they're Pyle or Legacy.

I'd like to run my 4 speakers off an amp, but unsure if I should go for a 2 channel, or a 4 and also hookup my head unit as well. New at all this so if I'm completely wrong please tell me, thanks
