Buying used amplifier?

How risky is it to buy a "slightly used", (1-5 month old) highend amplifier from Ebay. Just wondering if this is generally not a good thing to do, or is this a good way to get a higher end amp than one could afford new?
Thanks

It all depends on the sellers feed back. They should be in the 99% range and have tons of it.

you can now buy a service plan from ebay that if you buy this amp and in like 30 days it breaks ebay will fix it and replace it for you. Its awsome.

The Ebay service plan sounds like a nice safegaurd for receiving broken material. Is there any reason that a high end amplifier if installed properly and ran for 1-5 months would be any less quality than new, keeping one from purchasing something used that he could not afford new. For you car audiophiles out there, is this something you would do?
Thanks
