Silver Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 486 Registered: Sep-04 | i have... ive also been using another program... but the one u told me to use.. when i use it i calculate the volume myself and i always get a significantly highernumber than the program does |
Silver Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 487 Registered: Sep-04 | wether i do internal or external.... and what does net mean... does that mean subtracting displacement, walls and ports? |
Silver Member Username: AlpineuserWinchester, TN Post Number: 416 Registered: Mar-05 | when u count the volume dont count the port volume just the internals of the box |
Silver Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 489 Registered: Sep-04 | oh man i did not know that... i feel like an idiot.... so dont count this gray area.... ![]() |
Silver Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 490 Registered: Sep-04 | thats like half the volume lol |
Silver Member Username: Tdeaton1021Near Tampa, Florida USA Post Number: 499 Registered: Sep-04 | okay ... or tell me if this enclosure would work well with a 15 avalanche and a JL 1000/1... go to http://www.accelerator-pedal.com/l-ported-box.htm for net volume put 4.6875 24Hz tuning frequency i put .18 for displacement i dont really know box width 40. box height 18 im realy not sure as to what volume/shape would give me the best outcome.... |

beerman_accelerator-pedal.com Unregistered guest | Cool, people are using my program! Trevor, the program determines port area based on two guidelines for minimizing port noise: A minumum of 10 square inches per square foot, and at least a 9:1 ratio between height and width. Port width and port height make up port area. Port area and tuning frequency determine length. Tuning lower usually means it's going to move more air at resonance, and that might be a reason for making the port wider. 10 square inches of port area to a single cubic foot of airspace is usually enough to prevent noise in most cases, though I'm sure someone disagrees. |
