Regarding dash mounts. Scosche has 4 mounts that work with this vehicle ('89 Dodge Spirit). They call them;

Specific kit;

I won't be using a EQ, just a basic HU.

I think that one is the best, it has a shelf for storing items, overall utilizing the space best. The last one of course has the E.Q. and you don't want a gap in your dash. The first one is O.K. if you don't want the storage shelf, and the other two just involve too many small pieces in my opinion...I hope that helps...

That's what I was looking at also. It also moves the opening up a bit.
