Does pre-out voltage matter THAT much? I'm currently running an Alpine 40x4 amp for my speakers. Would a 2V alpine pre-out sound just as good as a 4V pioneer/kenwood/panasonic pre-out?
Unless your system is susceptible to noise you won't notice a difference, much less if you're running an external xover/line driver. Just make sure you set your amps' gains at a low enough h/u volume level to avoid distortion from the its preamp(about 2/3 max). Of course this is just as important with a set of 4v preouts as well.
