alright. well i've decided to buy a 12" IDmax subwoofer in a couple of weeks. i told my friend about it and he said he'd never heard of the brand and he says can almost garentee his 2 12" sony x-plode subs will hit harder and louder. now i've heard on here plenty of times that sony is at the very bottom of car audio. and many poeple on here say that the IDmax is a good sub. so i'd like to know.....what's better. is this kid serious? or does he just not know anything about this stuff. he thinks he has the nicest system at my school. that's all he has. 2 12" sony explodes. and everything else is stock.

so bottom line is.... what would hit harder?

2 12" sony x-plodes and a 1200 watt x-plode amp?

or a

12" IDmax sub and a 1000 watt cyclone amp?

i know the amp's not much. i'm hopeing it'll still hit pretty hard though.

When I think of sony subs I think of the leftover fat from the steak that I feed to the dog.

put it this way.... xplods do hit ok but they suck in sq... and they will eventually blow pretty easy especially with a 1200 watt amp.... so just tell him what i just said and then see what he says..... and btw.... idmax will kill the xplods.... ;)

make sure you get the dual 2 ohm version of the idmax 12 if your amp puts out its most power at 4 ohm bridged....if it puts its most out at 2 ohms bridged get the dual 4 ohm version
