Ive been put up to the job of designing my friends system. He will most likely be getting an impala. He prefers 2 12"s but he said W/E best so I was thinking maybe one 15" sub in a snail shell like a eclipse,XXX,MT,or maybe a brahma but i dont know about the new ones. Or like he said 2 12"s I was thinking 2 type R's or X's. so we need the Sub(s),Amps. He is also going to be upgrading the inside speakers and were going to put them on a amp also so they can keep up wit the subs.

Im not sure what to go wit for him so any suggestions are welcome. Im not sure about the spending limit but im pretty sure the minimum is 2 grand, but not sure the most he plans to spend.
I just dont want him to drop 2 grand and be disappointed wit it and be mad at me.

.. 3 10s.. re's are nice or infinity..
get a hifonics amp or for cheaper a rockford.

I really don't mess with speakers that much but 3 10s always did give me a good thump ^_^.

eclipse ti's are my idols now though.

i put 2 15s in a bandpass box in my brothers 02 impala they were audiobahns 1506t and a 2200hct audiobahn amp. the box was a pain to put in because it is so big. but it hit hard a $hit

Do you think you could find out the dimensions of the trunk so I can some kind of ballpark of the amount of space I have to work wit that would help alot, and what size are the inside speakers wether there 6x9's in the back or whatever and the size in the front And ill call him up right now and find out what year he plans on buying.

And also do you think we will have to upgrade to a high output alternater because im pretty sure if we go wit 2 type X's there 1000 watts each so thats 2000 for both plus for the inside speakers say 100 watts each so that gonna be a nice 2400 watts.

and for a $2000 limit you are really looking at crap for equipment, Audiobahn and Hifonics!

The only one talkin about audiobahn is joseph, No way in any situation would I ever recommend audiobahn whether it there top of the line stuff or not. I was under the impression from everyone in this forum that Hifonics made good stuff?

Then what would you recommend? remember we need a HU, box, subs, wiring, 2-3 amps, 3 way speakers for front and back, and possibly a HO ALT. and we may get install for little next to nothing because one of my friends lives next to a ex installer and he already installed stuff for my other friend for free but this time I feel bad and if he does it we will offer like 50 bucks but even then he might not take it.

bassman mike dont let them talk you away from audiobahn i i read what all you needed for that impala you can get a 2200hct amp and 2 1506t and get a box for around $800 and you still got cash to get a nice hu mybe a apline and some mids and highs and a couple more amps

that would be nice but why would you want ot have to replace it all in a few months after it all starts smoking on you? get GOOD stuff the first time and do it right and you will have years of listening enjoyment rather then months then headache's!

OK I was just F'ing around and came up with something that I think would really sound very good. Now these are off of Ebay all from reputable sellers with 98% or higher feedback. all these prices include shipping. 1)Alpine 9831 HU $300
2)REXXX 15 (from RE not ebay)$450
3)Kicker 1200.1 brand new $450
4) PPI a404(art series):-) 4Channel amp $250
5) Infinity Kappa perfect 6.1 component set $250
6)Infinity Kappa 6.25(rear fill) $60
Now all that total's up to $1760 that leaves you with plenty of money for a box and wiring not to mention that it would sound really damn nice:-)

I need help, please someone help me decide on components. I just bought a 1994 Licoln Town car mint condition. I want a nice head unit, amp, subs in the trunk, 6x9 in the doors. I want some serious thump. What would you knowledgeable people recommend. I don't have millions to spend, your expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
