i didnt measure the 12w6v2 but I have measured my avalanche when i first put it in without much tuning and i hit 146 I plan on going back to get it metered again because I have messed around with it since I got it put in and it is noticably louder now so I am really kinda interested as to what I would be hitting but I really dont care much about SPL #'s because thise sub sounds great with all types of music. I listen to alot of old Rap and Country,Rock,Reggae, ska, and punk so I am all over the musical spectrum and the Avalanche performs well with all of them but it really shines with the deep low notes with rap and country Also Mo the avalanche was much much louder then the 12w6v2.
Thats interesting because i wanna compare the 2 since i own both. Its nice to know that youve heard both so i can get some feedback off you. Im really curious cause once i get my box i wanna hear the differance between 2 sealed 12w6v2's and just 1 ported 12w6v2!! Thats mainly what im looking for before i decide to sell it or not.
Once i get my Avalanche 15 sealed im gonna push it with my CrossFire VR1000D amp which will give it 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm tested at 12.5 / birth sheet has it tested at 1332 x 1 @ 1 ohm with over 12.5 volts on a good electrical system most likely. Either way i should get in the 140's. They are good subwoofer amp.
But before i set it up with the Avalanche 15 im gonna run that same Crossfire amp with that JL 12w6v2 ported at 500 x 1 @ 2 ohm tested at 12.5 also and see how it sounds like. My box is tuned to 32hz so should i use my SSf and if so what is a good tune for the SSF?
