I purchased a Pyramid wiring kit of Ebay that was advertised as 4 gauge wiring for the power and ground. I bought this because it was dirt cheap, and I did not need the RCA cables (I'm using high-level speaker input).
The last 4 gauge wiring kit I bought (several years ago) seemed much larger (large enough that it was a tight fit into the amp terminal), and I spent significantly more for it (50-60$ IIRC). This one was less than 30$ shipped on Ebay.
Well to make a long story short, it seems the wire is a lot thinner, but the insulation is really thick.. Is this possible that some manufacturers may be overrating their wire size, or is it just that I've been out of the car audio scene for too long and don't remember?
