What would you guys choose for this budget?...don't mind going used...e-bay is my friend...I have image dynamics 5.25 up front powered with 100x2 arc audio amp. Needs to comply with a whimpy alternator.

one choice I came up with---idq-10 dual4ohm with jbl bp300.1.

Any other combos you guys can suggest??

Atlas 12 if you would consider a 12 and a PPI a300.

ty James....I would consider a 12...hmm ppi for a sub....never thought of that....don't think it would be a waste to run it for subs? just worried about my alernator, but with two pretty low powered amps, I bet I would be ok.

Any other combos guys?

I have a PPI a600.2 and I have run multiple different sets of subs with it and it ran them all flawlessly with great precision and detail:-) they are terrific amps for mids and highs but they will run subs very well also provided you run them at 4 or 8 ohms mono. also with the atlas look inot the jl 250/1

Remember the budget is $250 for the sub AND the amp. Don't think either of your combos will fit into that budget. The jl blows that budget by itself. Anyone got a good combo for $250 or less?

Take that back James...A used 250/1 can be had for around 175 or so it looks like, so you might not be too far off afterall. I like the ppi route better though. I am going to try and listen to some subs today. Thanks again.

Keep anymore $250 sub and amp combos coming please.

Thanks James....not too confident with that feedback, but I did grab this pc275, which seems to have the same specs.

thats a nice amp as well but not as good as the art series in my opinion! I know Isaac feel's differently but I have a thing for the art series amps, they are absolutely fantastic amps.

I think I did good for the price.

Here is a price list of older PPI amps I found interesting.

That amp would go well with an Atlas 12.

Oh, here's another good pdf to go along with that one:

I paid lil over $800 for my pro MOS 2050D in '89 so those prices are pretty reflective of what that stuff was going for.
