i just ran a box for someone on here with the eclipse 12's sw6123.4 its sweet spots are the 50 hz thro 65 hz range with a 34 hz port tune he should hit his resonant frequency somewhere in there most cars do

whether the angled screw driver you have will be able to fit in .50 clearance....that box for the eclipses (the 6123.4) i ran will be 1.80 cf per sub before the dropping the sub in

we can make it 8 inches high 3 inches wide by 8.5 deep for 39 hz port tune this would play pretty much any type of music except bass cds but youd have to be carefull with the volume nob...i did this tune with my cousins kicker c comp 12 and it was like i described.......we can go lower if you want but we must be carefull

ok you no your spl ports are 8 inches high by 3 inches wide by 5 inches deep right for 45 hz peaked at 48 hz.........ok well you daily port tuned at 39 hz in that same box would be 8 inches high by 3 inches wide by 8.5 inches deep....now picture an internal brace you would screw into with your port plate and whallah or we could do the brace on the outside of the box and it would seal tighter but not look as nice but we have to subtract .75 inches from our port depth to keep the same port tune

in other words the port plate is a square 10 inches high by 5 inches wide with our port fabricated in that square 8 inches high by 3 inches spl....8 inches high 3 inches wide daily.....depths as per ajustment needed

OHH, so basically cut a whole in the box, make it so that the port has like a frame on the outside that i can screw into the box and slide the port for 45 hrtz, then do EXactly the same thing but make the port longer to tune it to 39 hrtz

yes but if you weant the absolute best possible seal we would want to mount it externally but mine internally and it keeps a tight seal but were talkin alot more spl here for you

internally meaning a frame inside my box to mount the plate flush mount to my box....externally meaning mounting it from the outside of the box

it would be about a 3 db increase over the 45 hz tune peaked at 48 hz but it depends on what your cars efficiency is at that frequency

yuyou could do it internally you prob arent following me on the idea 100 percent but externally will gauruntee a tighter seal

ok your port is 8 by 3 right? you cut a hole say 10 by 5 in your boxes front panel you make a 10 by 5 plate with an 8 by 3 hole that leaves you 2 inches of solid wood to screw into on the plate width and height........now you make another wood ring inside the box thats say 12 by 7 and have it make a lip to give you a mount from the opening thats 10 by 5

cool there you go flush mount.....mine is done with 4 inch pvc porting with various lengths to each individual frequency i did it to do in car tests with my 12s for the most spl and was going to use my digital spl meter to get readings plus i made sealed plates to make the box sealed.....you may want to buy something with metal type treads to screw into with your screws so the holes dont wear out on the box...i didnt do that to mine

all that stuff is just part of the rules...if we do hit 150 youll have to make the headunit come out of the car with exteneded wires or use a remote control if you have it cuz you cant be in the car at 150 or above also the cd player might skip anyway at 150 if its in the car
