i was wondering what u guys do when u want to listen to ur stereo while your outside. do you just let it run off the battery or do you have a special way of finding power elsewhere and not draining ur battery?

I seen a Honda civic yesterday with a big wing made of 2x4's spray painted black to match the back half of the car...How cool is that? It will hold a few...I think you could get the solar cells for a bargain,Collect old calculators and attach them with duct tape..HaHaHa

hondas are ok as long as you keep in mind they are NOT FAST and NOT sportcars. They are bland family cars that are moderately reliable when taken care of. What we dislike are ricers.

that aside, you can run a bank of parallel deepcycle batteries if you have the space, inclination, and need for extended system use when the car is off.
you will need an alternator that's capable of recharging those batteries too though.

collect old calculators?? LMAO....... I worked at pro-machine(custom engine building shop) in anaheim ca for some time and while I didnt have much chance to work on honda's I once helped work on a ford focus Inline 4 2.0 liter engine for an owner of a custom corvette dealer that made around 490+ HP on the chassis dyno. It also cost him around $48,000 for the custom engine but hey , thats just pocket change right?

Glass that's like the opposite of what's happening to car audio in the States.

Honda's are not made in North America! They are assembled here. The same goes for Toyota. There is a big difference from assembeling the mechanicals of a car vs setting boards in cases or heat sinks of amplifires.Regardless,The Honda's are still butt ugly mommy's cars!!!Oh I love the first so called upgrade the guys do.Putting a cheapo tach on the dash when there is already one next to the speedo..He He.Most of these Honda guys couldn't buy a clue.. We really did get off the car audio subject on this post..But it really was fun...:-)

I have a tach on the dash of my car as well as on the gauge cluster. That way I don't have to look away from the street when I shift. The large tach is also a lot easier to read peripherally, and the shift light helps at the strip.

Many of the import companies have production facilities in North America, and all of their natural resources come from NA as well, which equates to nearly the entire car being produced here. The more jobs we can keep here, the better.

"!try to run a bank of batteries and an alternator to run this amp..Oh sure you can for about 20 seconds."

then why bother? I'd rather have a system I could listen to and enjoy, than one to brag about how it draws so much power that it's useless for daily use. congrats on the waste of money there! way to go! on a side note, I could run that amp for a lot more than 20 seconds if I was the one setting up the charging system, but that's because I know what I'm doing when I set up a system.
looks like an older US Amps amplifier sitting on the back of an old mid-60s barracuda.what was in it? 340?

Hey glass.I would say good eye but' O.K. good eye, First off. It's a 70's Cuda, whole different car.It came with a 360 but is now 499 cubic inches about 750 on Horsepower,Awaiting a four link system and 13" slicks. The audio system I am cuurently putting together for for my F350 diesel crewcab not this car.Secondly,I am ASE certified.I have worked at several import car dealerships and I am here to tell you Nissan does not prduce a thing here. And no drive train is produced here Engine or diffenetial by any of the import 3.They could be assembled american but they never will be American Thirdly,The amp is unmistakably a USAmps VLX-400 four feet long,I did make a mistake when I bought it.I can admit it.But it is a sought after amp I paid 400.00 And I will make money on it!As a matter of fact the owner of my local stereo shop was talking about trading me for two used Arc Audio xxk2500's That nobody here seems to have used.(Or do not want to comment on) I was not bragging about the amperage this amp needs more or less complaining about it, I could set it up as well to run alot longer than 20 seconds at its full potntial but it is not at all cost effective for my needs. If you noticed My postings have been all about finding the best a/b amps to run my power hungry xxx's with. But it seems that most of the people out hear are for Spl and have no use for an A/b amp.I DON'T Know it all but I can tell you this Not even Big Daddy Don Garlits needs two tach's and a shift light!
