A quick question..my amplifier mentions in the user manual that the maximum current draw is 75 amps but the amp has 2 30 amp fuses on board? Why 2 30 amp (60 amp total) when the actual manual mentions max.current draw 75 amps?
I know that test tones draw far more current than music but a little confused here.

Please could someone shed some light on this for me.

fuses don't instantly blow when they go over the rated current.
they blow at a specified amount of time per the percentage over the rated current. www.bcae1.com has a section explaining fuse ratings.

short answer is your amp probably won't be drawing 75A or if it does, it won't be for more than brief periods so 60A is plenty of current to allow normal operation.
