I'm stuck on deciding subwoofers, these three cost the same more or less but they each offer their own quality. I need some help to decide. I've got a Pioneer 1200W Dual 2ohm amp to push some good sound but I don't want it to come out rattling. I listen to rap, rock, breakbeats, drum & bass, plenty of hard sound to throw at my system so I want to make sure it handles it well. I've also got a Volfenhag 1.2 farad capacitor to make sure there's no juice drain. Can someone help??? I'm afraid that the Kicker will sound like a big boom that doesn't keep up with fast beats, the Alpine might sound great but too weak, and the Pioneer SEEMS to be the best at 3000W & great SPL but most expensive also and I'm not sure if my amp could handle it. I have a Scion Tc 2005 (hatchback) with a stock Pioneer cd/mp3 player, thinking of getting an equalizer. Any help would be great!
The amp is peak at 1200, i believe it is 750w. What I see in difference with the speakers is that the Pioneer Premier can hit as low as 18Hz and high as 700Khz with 1000W (3000W peak), which sounds like a win/win to me. The Alpine looks like it it can hit really fast with all the folds that it has around the cone.
yea your right, but with 750 watts rms for the amp, i would suggest getting the kicker l7 if you want to go LOUD lol, and with the pioneer sub, you cant really hear anything about 18 hz, and i dont think with a sub you WANT to hear anything over a couple hundred, im prollly wrong lol, but i have heard all those subs but the pioneer sub, and over the other two i would take the kicker, cause they can sound halfway good, not as good as the type r, but willlll KILLLL a type r in spl
I'm more thinking of accurate than loud, my stock head unit & speakers are Pioneer but still STOCK you know. About the 18Hz, while you might not hear it, you can still feel it, I'm thinking a bass solo would be where it benefits. And actually the Pioneer (Premier) has a higher spl than the Kicker, maybe because its a 12" unlike the kicker I'm looking at. I might not get the Premier because it has dual 4-ohms, the seller has not responded yet if he has a dual 2ohm version.
