Which speakers for my doors?

Unregistered guest
My doors of my truck have factory tweeters in top and 5x7 in bottom. I want to replace the factory system, so should I get a component set or can i buy 2-way 5x7s and separate tweeters?

go with 5.25" separates.
tweeters in factory dash locale, mids in the 5x7 holes

The tweeters are in the doors. No dash speakers. Thanks. I want to get the infinity kappas. Should I get a separate amp or will the alpine V-drive amp from the head unit work fine?

the alpine should power them just fine.
if you're not happy with that, then look at an amplifier afterward.

also, you can reduce cancellation by back waves if you mount the 5.25's on a fabricated plate, then mount them in the 5x7 holes.

you won't have an issue with standing wave reflection in a door panel, since the inside of the door isn't a strictly parallel surface to the mounting panel of the speakers. You could use a dynamat speaker baffle however, to reduce resonance and give better midbass response.

Agreed, I baffled my 6 1/2 seperates in my door and they sounded a lot cleaner, and provide protection from misc. dust.
