ok, first i need for someone to recommend me some good car speakers for SQ at high volumes. that being said, i need to ask the following question: say i have an amp that is 500x2RMS and speakers that are maybe only 120RMS.. if i bought more than just 2 speakers for each 500w channel.. is there a way that i could hook enough up to power all efficiently without burning them? thanks for any recommendations.

if you wire a second set on each channel in series, you'll cut that 500 watts, down to 250 (125 per set of speakers), if the amp will work with a dual 8 ohm load. i don't know of any speakers that will handel 500 watts and still sound good at high volumes or just not burn up.

but some good brands for speakers are alpine, jl, mb quart, boston, dyanudio, diamond, rainbow, adire....

im asking because.. i don't understand why they make subs that handle you know.. 1500watts rms, and dont make matching speakers to go with it.. to me that is just stupid, but maybe someone has a reason on why it wouldn't be stupid?

well i'm guessing your talking about SPL comps, and in thoes you play bass tones which are usually a lower frequency then what your speakers are gonna reproduce. a lot of people hook up some kind of knob they turn to turn just the sound down and not the bass

it takes more watts to push a sub then speakers, just look at the size for starters.
