will it be ok to use about 6" to 12" of 8ga from a distribution block with 4 ga input to my amp (memphis st3004) that puts out 460w RMS at 100%?

i've got 4 ga run to the back of my 4runner and i want to add a power inverter. i was planning on getting a distribution block with 4ga inputs and 4ga outputs, but i cant seem to find one. will one w/ 1/0ga inputs and 4 ga outputs work? will 4ga fit in the 1/0ga input? or should i get one with 4ga in and 8ga out? thanks in advance.

I think it would work. The 4ga should fit in the 1/0 gauge input.
