Should i get a bigger alternator for a 1000 watt amp or will a capacitor work?

i am getting a new 1000 watt amp and i dont know if i should get a bigger alternator or if a cap. will work.

you'll need at least an 85 amp alternator, but that'd be pushing it. 100 amp would be better.
a cap won't help, it'll just up the reaction speed of the amp and provide 14.4 volts rather then 12.

will i hurt my 1000 watt amp if i hook up a 300 watt max sub and a 800 watt max sub?

you will prolly bow the 300 watt max sub, cause it will get 500 watts

my 1000 watt amp is only pushing about 500 watts why would this be?

what size guage of wire should i get for a 1000 watt amp?

well if the amp is 500watts RMS then you would only be putting 250 RMS watts to the subs so you should be ok, unless your 300watt sub is 150 watts RMS then you would prolly blow it but the 800watt sub should be fine. Find the RMS watts on your subs and amp its best to keep everything in RMS when trying to ask for help
