I was wondering if anyone has heard the Alpine SWX-1242D 12" sub yet? its 1000 Watts RMS and 3000 Watts Peak. I was planning on ordering that and a Hifonics BX1500D but im going to wait a little bit first. If anyone knows anything about this sub or has heard it before please tell me about it.

It's a pretty good sub.
It's not that bad for the money. It's an sql sub.

That's the sub i run. Basically for the average person one powered 12" would be comparable to several mid range subs. Example, i ran two 15" Audiobahn High Excursion subs off of the same two MRD-M1001 amps, and the type X running off of one amp has more thump.

BUT on the other hand it's a lower freq sub. I find it has issues at higher freq's with distortion so when you get songs that combine both it's a pain at extremely high volume levels.

Then again i rarely turn it up high as i have 2 type x 12's and two type x 10's.

Guess it all depends on the setup your trying to run as a lot of cars couldn't take it. One type x 12 draws 100+ amps of current through my MRD-m1001 at high freqs.
