I recently bought 2 ALUM10Q(10" 800RMS) and 1 ALUM12Q(12"1000RMS) they are all three dual 6 Ohm vc's I was wanting to wire them at 1 Ohm but i dont know how to wire them, the amp i have is also audiobahn it pushes 1200 RMS at 1 ohm X 1 mono Im having a custom box built for my car and i want to make sure i can wire them at 1 ohm also does anyone know if this is going to sound good the subs are rated at 18hz.

Your gonna want to connecting the two voice coils of each driver in parallel
(+ to +, - to -) and the drivers themselves in parallel

Go here to see it: http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/#3dvcpp

Series each sub so you get 12 ohms on each sub, then when you connect them all together you should end up with 3 ohms. LOL, dont series them indefinatley, you will get 36 ohms!

Nick, his amp pushes 1200 rms at 1 ohm. He wants the subs wired to 1 ohm. Chris click on the link I gave you.

Just a thought, but its usually not a good idea SQ-wise to run different size, model, or impedance subs together at the same frequency. It may "muddy" up your bass a bit. It'll be loud as heck regardless. I'm sure Jonathan or someone could comment further.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I figured I'd just answer his question. After all they're just audiobahn's.

lol, I didn't wanna be the one to say that, but now that the cat's out of the bag I guess sound quality really isn't such a big issue. I'm not sure I'd spend a whole helluva lot on that custom enclosure however unless its a two/three piece jobby where you can remove that 12 if necessary. Otherwise I guess an unused 12 inch enclosure would make a nice planter. You could be the first one on your block to have a kickorz ficus tree growin in the back of your ride.

No, don't mind me. It'll probably just sound fine.
