I was looking at buying an Alphasonic 1500 watt @ 2 ohm monoblock amp to power my two ID max 12's. It seems to be reasonably priced ($470) and has good stats. Does anyone have experience with these amps, are they under/over rated? can anyone suggest an alternative?...I would possibly like to get 2000 watts.
Blair, Alphasonic and Audiobahn are the same. Look at their amps, almost identical rating. They even share the same building. If money is not a problem, try Zapco's C2K 9. It is 2000w rms. One of the best class D ever made. If that's too high for you, then try C2K 6.

ohh really, that sucks man. They are some nice looking amplifiers. Unfortuantely for me money is a restriction and as much as I would love a Zapco I cant afford one.
Instead should I go for a MTX1500d? any other suggestions.. I have around $400 to spend
Okay then, for $400, MTX will work. You might want to check out Orion's HCCA 250G4, PPI's PC or PCX series, Art series amp on eBay. Most of them are under $400.
