Usually they will say if they are dvc or not. What is the mottle number of you're sub's?

Well, you should be able to tell if it's a dvc or svc... just look at the stinkin' think. How many voice coil's does it have? There should be a pair hookups on each side.

im asking if the numer 4 then the "ohm" sign written on the side of the sub means its 4 ohm. i found out that this is infact what determins the 2ohm from the 4ohm. and i know its dvc already, guess i didnt make that clear enough. also the way i have it wired up (if it is a dvc 4ohm) it runs at 2 ohms and it doesnt hit near as hard as i thought. could it be b/c im not giving it enough power? i have 1 12'' new L7 with a kx600 kicker amp. in a 1 cu-ft sealed box.

yeh that means that it is a 4 ohm dvc. BUt a reason about the sub not hitting hard, is becasue becasue since youre enclosure is so small its going to take more than 600-650 to get that sub to full potential. Because im assuming that it's 1 cu ft.net, so after sub displacement youre looking at about .75 cu ft. for the sub which is kind of small for that sub with only 600 watts

damn, i have a mustang so trunk space is small. i found a buyer for my sub and im debaiting getting 2 ED 11.Kv.2 in a ported box. i think that should hit louder and a LOT cleaner. would that amp be enough power for those?

yeh that would hit a sh!tload cleaner but i think the spl should be a little better of the ed's becasue youre going ported, but the amp should be perfect for those subs

awsome, only other option would be buying a new box... i went sealed cuz L7's are known for having horrible SQ.. so i could grab one of these 12'' ported box w/ 1.8 cuft:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=50568%26item%3D5757079809 %26

or would a slightly bigger sealed box(i only have found 1.2cu-ft for a square sub) box make enough diff. to be worth spending the $$?

... any suggestions would be awsome, i wanted to keep the l7 a little bit longer(seeing how i just got it) then upgrading to the ED set up. but if this sub is going to suck this bad then no thanks!

It may not sound like much, but 9 Db's is a crap load more. That's a big difference!
