i have an eclipse cd5432 headunit should i set the x-over on the hu to match the same #'s on my kicker kx600.1 amp? srry im new to car audio any assistance on tuning my amp would be helpful.
nope, you should turn x-over on your amp off.it's not recommended to use two crossovers in a line (due to phase shift).or turn HU's x-over off and amp's on.
i would like some to help get my eq settings close on my alpine 9835. i have somewhat got the x-over close. i have 4 alpine 6.5 coaxials in the doors of my durango. i'm only pushing 400 watts to them. also i have 2 alpine 12in type s subs bridged with a 980 watt amp. i confused with the eq settings.
barry, what do you have your sub's LP and your coaxials HP set to as of now? Also, do you know what kind of slope you're dealing with on your crossovers
as long as the slope (db/oct) of the front, rear, and sub are the same, it's okay to use your headunit's crossover because all parts of the signal will see the same phase shift.
