What is the difference between the CD and the EF series of component speakers from CDT? I'm specifically talking about the CDT Audio EF-61 6-1/2" Component System (as shown at the bottom of the page here:http://www.cdtaudio.com/hd62ef.htm) vs. the CDT Audio CL-61A 6-1/2" Component System (as shown here: http://www.cdtaudio.com/classic2000MidDriv.htm). Their both within my price range.

Also, has anyone ever DIYed car speakers? I'm looking to do just that, the only think stoping me is crossover design. I'm worried it would cost too much to have someone create a crossover schematic for me. I'd much rather DIY though, as I know and trust certain companies out there where as car audio has endless "cloak and mirror" companies that are full of tricks and bad products. Not to mention DIY is usually cheeper.

DIY is cheaper and usually gives better results. The key is to choose drivers that work well within their given frequency range. There are plenty of crossover calculators on the net.

Meh, I know there are a bunch of crossover calculators on the net, but there's more to crossover creation than just calculus. I'd rather have someone with expereince design a schematic than a computer program. I will look around though.

It's not extremely complicated. It just depends on what order you're trying to run. Many sites have schematics of certain crossover designs and slopes.
