Need cheap cap. for 1500 watt system

i just bought a new car, and it has 2 750 watt amps runnin 2 subs and the lights dim when im drivin and playin the system. so i need a cap that i can buy fairly cheap as somethin to keep my lights from dimming for now. anyone have one their trying to sell?

a cap usually won't solve your dimming problem because the larger gauge wire running your amps will take priority over the smaller gauge wires running your lights. unless you get a massave cap, i don't think this is your solution.

o, I guess what i heard about a cap was that it would just give more power when it needs it most, u know a " power stiffener". so do i need a higher power alt. or somethin along those lines?

yes you should get a higher power alternator. i dunno too much about alternators but yea thats what you need.

what ya need is a bigger alternator, or less volume. :-)

hey glass, for clarification, ur link states if the car motor is off, a cap put a greater load on the alternator because it has an extra item to charge thus causing even more damage to the the alt. does the cap cause any damage to the alt if u listen to ur system only with the engine on?
