Bronze Member Username: VqmanPost Number: 12 Registered: 02-2004 | here is a link to a 3527S(not mine) : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3077082771&category=39740&ssp agename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1 I have one of these dinasours, its 10 years old... It still works of course, and I was wondering about this guys claim of 280 watts...(I've always heard it was underrated) the back of the amp says it's 25 x 4 RMS so I assume the 280 is a MAX rating. I don't have my book anymore. I want to run it bridged to a pair of Boston Acoustics 6.5 Pro Series Speakers..off of an Eclipse CD8053 (8 volt pre-outs) I also have Boston Z6 Components (a step above the Pro Series) for my fronts, and I was wanting to push them with an Alpine MRV-T420 (75x2) should I flip them around? is the 3527S so underrated that it would be more powerful than the MRV-T420? I am going to try the Alpine's and if they don't do what I want them to do, I will then upgrade to a JL 450/4...but only AFTER I give the Alpines a whirl... so the basic question is this, which should I run the Z6's with, and which should I run the Pro Series with... the MRV-T420 or the 3527S? thanks -vq ps, I used to run my 3527S 3 way to a set of Boston Pro Series 5 and a quarter's and a Cobalt DVC 10... the bostons sounded just fine... (can't say the same for the Cobalt) |
Bronze Member Username: VqmanPost Number: 17 Registered: 02-2004 | if there is anyone out there that knows what the old 3527S is, will it take 8V pre-outs? my CD-8053 has 8 or 16V preouts, depending on how I set it up... it's a shame that I probably won't be able to take full advantage... -vq |

I used to sell that amplifier, and installed several back in the day. What you may want to do is look for a good 4 channel Eclipse amplifier. |
Bronze Member Username: VqmanPost Number: 18 Registered: 02-2004 | doesn't the JL 450/4 take 8 or 16V preouts? why do you suggest Eclipse? -vq |
Gold Member Username: GlasswolfPost Number: 1228 Registered: 12-2003 | the JL should be fine as well. Eclipse makes terrific 4 channel amps for components, and they are matched to the Eclipse head units for line voltages. worth looking at, anyway. |
