jus bought a 15" kicker l7 with a sealed box. im just worried that it wont be loud or deep like a ported box. my mate has just bought a vibe 12 " in a ported box and it goes deep. jus wondering if i should get a ported and if so, how big would it be in dimensions??
Sealed box is best for sound quality. With ported, you will get distortion when a sound goes below the boxe's tuned frequency. Besides at high volumes, you will hear wind sounds from the ports. As long as the box you bought was made according to the speaker's spec, you'll get great bass.
