Looking for some help choosing the right size amps. I have 2 Eclipse 12" 86120.4 svc subs in a sealed box 175 watt rms, 350 watts max. 2 Eclipse 4 x 10's & 2 Eclipse 6 1/2's. What would be the best size amp wattage wise for the subs? What would be the best size amp for the other speakers? Would a kicker kx 600.1 be enough power? Is it possible to wire svc 4ohm subs for 2ohms? If so how? Any advice would be appreciated.
Yes it's possible to wire 2 4ohm svc subs into 2ohms. Connect the 2 subs in parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg). This will turn 4ohms into 2ohms total. As for your other speakers, you didn't list their power rating, so I'll assume it's somewhere around 75W rms each. You can use any amp that's 75W - 125W rms x 4 for 4 channel or x 2 for 2 channel stereo. The Kicker 600.1 will be too powerful for your subs. However, if you don't max out your volume, then it'll be fine.
The 6 1/2's are 80W max & 4 x 10's are 70W max (they are older eclipse 2 way's) so maybe an amp that's 50W - 75W rms X 4 channel would be better. thanks
