He thinks the stereo guy in town knows all and that guy pushes treo treo treo. My friend isn't loaded but still "doesn't care" how much he spends on his system. I want to spend 4 or 500 on amp, sub(s) and box. Is there ANY way I can get a system that will beat his? btw, I have a '96 corsica with half the trunk to work with. |

Couple tens in the box would be worth around 250ish, and the amp around the same price, 4 guage kit and ur set. Personal preferance i wouldent buy Hifonix. but the L7 is a good woofer to go with. |

Gold Member Username: Its_bacon12Hfl, Ny Usa Post Number: 1205 Registered: Dec-03 | i would not go with kicker subs for this...treo makes excellent equipment i would say a single 15" SE or SX with about 800-1200w rms would do it well, in a large ported box u make out of 3/4 to 1" mdf probably run you 500 or so if u go with SX and a hifonics bx1000d pharoh why wouldnt u buy hifonics? |

Also what vehicle does he have the treo's in and what are you driving? this will make a big difference as well. |

The cerwin vega's were the only decent speakers that were on there and the alpines are much better in my opinion. The sony's are just absolute crap you wouldnt beat 2-6in treo's with that sony 15. The kickers are decent but again go with the alpine's. Its gonna be really hard for you to compete against your frien just because the eclipse's are hatchback's and I believe yours is a trunk. You would really have to port it well into your car. I dont know man its gonna be a tough one for you. |

Not being mean, with the hobby you get what you pay for though. 2 15s is a must if you want to beat him, you'll need the sheer displacement. Something like two Adire Tempests and a JBL 600.1 for them will run within your budget. The SX's would do a great job too. Ported box definately, tune around 40hz if you want more SPL, 32-35 for more music listening. |
