i have a ported 15" speaker but can't tell if it's a sub or jus a normal loudspeaker. What are the tell tale signs of a sub by jus looking at it? help!

what is the brand?some brand only produce a SUB woofer. TRY and look it up on the internet and that may tell you a little something.

If you take out the speaker a look to see if it has a extremely huge magnet. It would also help if u said what it looked like. If it has the plain original dust cap and ridged paper cone then its probaly a loud speaker

If it sounds good who cares? If you like it, that is all that matters. depending on the maker and the age of the woofer. some loudspeakers or woofers and subwoofers are very similar. there has actually been lots of great subs made with paper pulp cones
