Help with my little Experiment??? Plz Glasswolf or better?

This is a little something that I want to try. I have a Christmas light that has Merry Christmas written on it a it lights up. What I want to do is hard wire it to my brake light so whenever I stop I illuminates. Any suggestion how I can do this?
