How exactly do you use one of these to check the output of your amp (such as when setting the gains correctly)?

Thanks Glasswolf...in your opinion is this a good way to set the gains in lieu of an oscope? I don't always trust my ear (wife says I sing like I'm tone deaf)

yeah it's a good ballpark method. close enough to prevent damage anyway

Thanks...I figured it was better than just using a regular DMM....Radio Shack sells one for about $90

its always good to have an AC Voltage DMM anyway
you can test wall outlets with that now too
