Wondering if u guys can help on this.. a friend of mine just got himself a component system but the sounds are all highs and almost zero mids. They're running off of the headunit which i believe is the problem. I told him to get an amp to power em..but he wanted a cheaper alternative. What can u guys recommend to help tone down the tweeters and bringout the mids.The HU is a cheap no-brand (RODEK) with no customiseable EQ functions,'cept for the 4 useless presets..its putting out about 25W x 4(rrright..) and the speakers are Lightning Audio B1.525c 60W rms nominal power handling.
hey check the phase on his mids. he may have gotten one reversed pos/neg. that'd cause what you're describing to a tee. make sure all the pos/neg connections are correct at the radio, crossovers, mids, and tweeters. it all has to be wired straight.
