Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 59 Registered: Jul-04 | can anyone give me their opinions on these two subs? |
Silver Member Username: Zacdavis~Post Number: 337 Registered: Sep-04 | both are good. crossfire's primary feild of expertise is amplifiers, as woofer and speaker is to adire. personally i like the brahmas over the xfire. and the brahmas will handle 3000rms watt burps each. or more depending on a few factors that include the frequency youd be playing among many others, but ya, they will do the job ![]() here is another brand to look into, look for the closest dealer and if its to far, let me know, i will give you a direct phone number, name and reference from me. these in my, and many spl champions opinion, are the best money can buy. http://www.ddaudio.com/dd/default.asp |

Silver Member Username: Zacdavis~Post Number: 341 Registered: Sep-04 | the brahma is a better sub that the xfire, but the DD9900's takes the cake. check them out as far as power, it depends on what your tryin to do, i dont really know what kind of sound your loooking for, type of car, or ballpark db range? |

Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 2779 Registered: May-04 | Brahmas are dual two ohm subs, so you'll need a mono amp that develops the amount of power you want on a 2 ohm load, or two seperate amps that develop their power at either 1 or 4 ohm. It depends a lot on which enclosure you use, the Brahma owners manual gives a chart of power recommendations for the enclosure you plan to run, usually 800-900W RMS works well. It ain't gonna be cheap though, how much can you spend? |
Bronze Member Username: Bassfreak596Post Number: 52 Registered: Oct-04 | i owned a brahma n i fed it with 600w rms.. the subs did well but now i m up with an eclipse. u think the brahmas were hungry for more power ? did i underpower them ? |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 64 Registered: Jul-04 | i'm thinking maybe around 1600 bucks |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 65 Registered: Jul-04 | what's ur opinion on the crossfire 2's and 3's? will the brahma be much better than them? |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 2793 Registered: May-04 | Honestly I haven't dealt with a lot of Crossfire's stuff, so I can't go into that. Personally I'd give the Brahma around 750-800W RMS, depending on enclosure, an MTX 1501D would be a great amp and not horribly costly. |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 70 Registered: Jul-04 | what kind and size of box? |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 72 Registered: Jul-04 | would i run that parallel jonathan? is that amp going to be enough power to 2 of them? |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 74 Registered: Jul-04 | ??? |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 2803 Registered: May-04 | You'd wire the subs coils in series, then both the subs parallel to the amp for a 2 ohm load. |
Bronze Member Username: SuicideshifterBristolville, Ohio United States Post Number: 76 Registered: Jul-04 | alright, thanks |
Gold Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 2822 Registered: May-04 | BTW, around 750-800 works best with sealed enclosures. Adire's website gives you an idea of how much power is needed with certain enclosures. |
