New member Username: FishPost Number: 10 Registered: Oct-04 | hey guys.... i want to get a head unit for my system... its the last component i need, then i can finally install it all... i have a 1994 audi 100s and the stock system isn't too bad but there is no bass (so i got got a sub and amp) and it has a tape deck. i am thinking for spending around $200 and i am thinking of ordering from crutchfield... I am seriosly considering the Sony CDX-F5700 ($199.99) or the Sony CDX-F5705X ($209.99) are these any good? I like the idea of the sonys beacuse they have good reviews, and they have an aux input so with an rca to 1/8th" addapter i can plug my ipod it... (this is a VERY key feature to me and many of the other units around $200 need speacial addapert ect.) Crutchfield also says i should get the PAC OEM-2 Universal Factory Sound System Interface (fit to a 94 audi 90 but that shoud'nt make a difference... do i even need one of these? the sonys also include a $50 discount on speakers but i think i need to order two sets, my friends tell me my stock speakers sound about the same as their after market ones and my speakers sound quality will improve once my sub is in, beacuse they won't need to play base tones. should i bother to upgrade to the cheapest sonys or are they no better thean my stock set? (damn... there also out of stock!) |

Search for that one, or for a Clarion on ebay, even cheaper there. Make sure they buyer is covered by PayPal buyer protection and make sure to pay with PayPal, too. |

I a looking at these above 800watt kits because these shady companies probably over right their kits and i may upgrade soon. i want to get it from this site to keep things simple... At an average of about 15 to 20 feet of run from a battery to a trunk, you'd need 4ga. 8ga wouldn't be rated to handle that much current, and could cause potential shorts due to heat melting the insulation off the cable. 4ga is just right for an 800 watt system. my old car ran 820wRMS total for the system, and used 4ga from the battery as well. worked just right. |
