Noise issue

My components receive power from the internal amp of an //Alpine CDA-9825. However, I hear a constant hissing noise from the speakers when the volume is not on 0 (a lot of good that level will do.) The head unit is connected using a standard wiring harness with factory connections (expect, of course, for the components which have new wires.) Could this be a grounding problem or possibly a defective head unit? What else may cause this problem? Thanks.

Yes, it could be a bad head unit, I've had one like that. It also may be the ground, too close to the engine or something else that emits an electrical charge.

Hey K chat, try connecting a normal speaker to your HU. Bypass all new wires. See if that solves the problem. If not, then you have a bad HU.
