alright i got a big problem and i dont know what the problem can be. I hooked up my amp the other day...a Kendwood Excelon. I have 8 gauge wires. I had the power cord from the battery to the amp...that was fine. I had the ground wire installed correctly. The amp power wire from the radio was spliced nicely. The battery in the car is brand new. The AMP just isnt getting power and i have no idea why. If anyone knows anything im missing or doing wrong please help me! Thanks, it's greatly appreciated.

It's probably your rca wires. they may have a shortage.

but wouldnt the power light at least come on if its getting power from the battery? or do the RCA's have to be good for the amps power light to even turn on

if the light isnt turned on it canet be from the rca. make sure it is hooked up correctly to the battery. and make sure you dont need to use a 4 gauge instead of the 8 one

Try a different ground and remote wire power source... NO power in a lot of situations (not just car audio) is the result of a bad grounding point.

Did you re-install the fuse under the hood after you hitched everything up? Providing you removed it to begin with which is a good idea.

Well the fuse is good i checked every fuse...the one on the power cord and the 2 in the amp. The connection to the battery is pretty damn solid...i have the screw from the battery connector screwing the power cord connector onto the battery very tightly. I tried several different grounding points and still to no success. However, i know it is not the amp because the amp worked in my buddies car no problems...any other suggestions??? I'm really stumped. Thanks.

this may be a verey stupid question but you hooked the wire to battery to positive right, (red). check that nothing is wrong with your power wire. it might be a good idea to upgrade your 8 awg to 4awg wire. sorry about the stupid question

find a friend with an amp and hook it up in your car and see if that one turns on, or hook your amp in a friends vehicle and see if it works. this will test your amp and wiring

just a lil suggestion, you probably have already tried this, scratch and scrape away any and all paint between the ground wire and chassis of the car.
