my amp (PB645X - 4 channel 1000watt mosfet) turns off in about 3 seconds after i power it on, the power light goes out and the protect light comes on .....im thinking it might be the fuse cuz it's a 15amp (blue) but im not shure? 1. bad ground 2. wrong fuse 3. Amp = toast
Hey Lee, try disconnecting all cables that's going into the amp. That way you'll know if it's the amp that's acting up. Usually when an amp goes into a protect mode, it's cause something's overloading it. If it still happens with no load, then you have an amp problem most likely.
the amp isn't putting out 1Kw with a 15A fuse. That's for sure. Like Isaac said, usually I see that happen if the amp is runing too low of a load or if it's damaged internally. those are the two most common reasons.
