Glass or jonathon please...a question

I have been reading the forum enough to know who is the most knowledgable so if you can help it would be greatly appreciative. can you change the tubular ports into a square or rectangular vent by figuring the internal volume of the cylinders and matching it to the vent if you keep the depth the same. the current enclosure sounds good but i need to transpose it to a box with different dimensions. im going to keepthe same internal volume , just change the length and hieght to better suit the vehicle. the current enclosure has 4-3"x8" ports and would be highly impractical to use on the new design. a single rectangular vent would be nice plus maybe port noise {inaudible in the car} would be held to a minimum. thanks for your input guys

that's one way to do it but it'd be easier to just recalculate port dimensions for a slotted port based on volume.
www.bcae1.com has calculators on the site (java) for this.
search the right menu for "basic enclosure calculators"
