Mabey you are pressing something wrong, sounds like something in the HU memory, or something needs to be set differently, read up on the instruction manual. I highly doubt its a faulty wire, because there is no wire on the harness for pre-set radio.

As a guess: from reading the other sony forum - is the red wired to the ignition, and the yellow directly to the battery? If it is opposite, you would be losing your memory due to no power.
