Amp for V-max vegas?

I'm looking into installing two Cerwin-Vega 15" V-Max DVC subs. I'm still wondering what amplifier I should get for them.

The subs are 400W rms and I was looking at the Cerwin-vega EXL-1000D. Will this setup work? What recommendations do you have?

The amplifier actually delivers these power ratings:

• 1000 watts RMS x 1 @ 4 ohm
• 1000 watts RMS x 1 @ 2 ohm
• 1000 watts RMS x 1 @ 1 ohm

What I'm really worried about is the higher power rating of the amplifier (1000W) vs. 800W total for the subs.

How will the subs handle this excess power?

not what it shows there but as long as you set the gain right youll be ok ive ran a 300 rms amp into a 150 rms sub and its fine and its much cheaper than the vegas (kicker c 12 lowest line)

Coll thanks, but even if the amp does not run @ 1 and 4 Ohm, i can always get the SVC model of the sub which is also a 4 Ohm and run them at 2 ohm right?
